FAQs

Trip prices are based on shared arrangements for our standard rooms (typically two guests per room), unless otherwise stated. For solo travellers, we’ll pair you with another person of the same gender to share rooms and if there’s no one suitable to share with, there’s no forced single supplement. However, if you specifically request your own rooms, you can opt to pay the single supplement. Solo travellers who book within 90 days of departure, where there are no other solo travellers willing to share, will be required to pay the single supplement. For Family Vacation bookings, families consisting of four guests traveling with children aged 18 and under will be automatically assigned one shared room. However, the following alternative rooming allocations are available: Families consisting of four guests with all children aged 13 and above are welcome to opt for additional rooms as per advertised double occupancy adult rates. Families consisting of four guests with at least one child aged 12 and under are automatically assigned a shared room. However, families can opt to pay the adult rates for all guests in their family to have an additional room. The same principles apply for families consisting of more than four guests. Rooming preferences are subject to availability and must be communicated in writing at time of booking. Automatic assignments as per this policy will be applied in the absence of any specification provided by guests. Any request for additional rooms during trips will be at guests’ own expense and subject to rates made available by the accommodation provider at the time. All minors (guests aged 18 and under) must be accompanied by at least one adult.

On the first day of the trip, our two pick-up locations are the Long Beach airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines (YAZ) or the Tofino Marina with Harbour Air. You are welcome to stay at any hotel in Tofino if you arrive before the first day, though you must make your own way to one of the two pick-up points at the pre-designated times. Your trip ends with a drop-off at either the Long Beach Airport (YAZ) or the Tofino Marina in time for your flight. If you are not planning to fly, driving is also an option. No matter what time of year you are travelling our way, keep up to date on road conditions, including events or delays that may affect your travel plans, by checking your route on DriveBC, then clicking on the map for road and weather conditions. Vancouver Island – and Tofino – can be accessed by vehicle from the British Columbia mainland in three ways: By driving your own or a rented vehicle. Custom shuttle with Pacific Rim Navigators. Aboard daily scheduled trips with Tofino Bus. If driving from the British Columbia mainland, you’ll first need to sail with BC Ferries from one of two points near Vancouver to Vancouver Island: Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay:  The Horseshoe Bay terminal is north of Vancouver and this ferry route takes just under 2 hours, arriving at Nanaimo’s Departure Bay. Tsawwassen to Duke Point:  The Tsawwassen terminal is south of the city, closer to the USA border. This ferry route takes approximately 2.5 hours, arriving at the Duke Point terminal, about 15 minutes south of Nanaimo. Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay:  The Tsawwassen terminal is south of the city, closer to the USA border.
