Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival
Today is your arrival to Tofino. It’s a 15 minute drive from the airport to our ocean front lodge, nestled in the heart of the Pacific Rim region and along the shores of Cox Bay. After checking into our rooms, you will meet your guide. A delicious lunch will be served with homemade products that you may want to pair with an excellent British Columbian wine or cold regional microbrew. In the afternoon, we will stretch out legs on a walk to Penniger Point. Later we will meet for welcome cocktails in the great room and enjoy the first of many meals overlooking the north Pacific Ocean.
DAY 2
Biking, Bear Viewing & The Big Tree Trail
Today we’ll take to our bikes for a scenic ride along the beaches of the Esowista Peninsula and into the village of Tofino. After a visit of some of the local shops and cafes, we will embark by boat and cruise into the deep fjords of Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in search of black bears, sea otters, eagles and seals. Eventually we will make our way to Meares Island where we will explore the Big Tree Trail and visit some of the oldest western red cedars in the region. We’ll return to the lodge in the late afternoon with enough time for a siesta, a beach stroll or a soak in the spa before another great dinner.
DAY 3
Hiking Flores Island Provincial Park
Today we’ll explore Flores Island Provincial Park in a remote part of Clayoquot Sound. On route we will be on the look out for whales and sea otters before beginning one of the best coastal day hikes on the west coast of Vancouver Island. After the hike there will be time to recharge or perhaps a massage may be in order before we have dinner.
DAY 4
Surfing & Alpine Heli-Hiking
Today we’ll split our day with surfing/paddle boarding and alpine trekking. Truly experience the best of both worlds and understand what makes Vancouver Island so magical. From a morning surf in the Pacific Ocean to high mountain peaks in the afternoon, let the art of flight help us access jaw-dropping and isolated landscapes. Led by professional guides accredited by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) you can explore further. Then we will fly back to the lodge for drinks, tapas, hot tub time and a gourmet dinner.
DAY 5
Departure
After a casual morning of packing up and sharing heartfelt “see you laters” you will have to pry yourself away from this island paradise as we transfer to the Long Beach airport for your flight home.

However, if you specifically request your own rooms, you can opt to pay the single supplement. Solo travellers who book within 90 days of departure, where there are no other solo travellers willing to share, will be required to pay the single supplement.
For Family Vacation bookings, families consisting of four guests traveling with children aged 18 and under will be automatically assigned one shared room. However, the following alternative rooming allocations are available:

- Families consisting of four guests with at least one child aged 12 and under are automatically assigned a shared room. However, families can opt to pay the adult rates for all guests in their family to have an additional room.
- The same principles apply for families consisting of more than four guests.
Rooming preferences are subject to availability and must be communicated in writing at time of booking. Automatic assignments as per this policy will be applied in the absence of any specification provided by guests. Any request for additional rooms during trips will be at guests’ own expense and subject to rates made available by the accommodation provider at the time. All minors (guests aged 18 and under) must be accompanied by at least one adult.
On the first day of the trip, our two pick-up locations are the Long Beach airport with Pacific Coastal Airlines (YAZ) or the Tofino Marina with Harbour Air. You are welcome to stay at any hotel in Tofino if you arrive before the first day, though you must make your own way to one of the two pick-up points at the pre-designated times.
Your trip ends with a drop-off at either the Long Beach Airport (YAZ) or the Tofino Marina in time for your flight.
If you are not planning to fly, driving is also an option. No matter what time of year you are travelling our way, keep up to date on road conditions, including events or delays that may affect your travel plans, by checking your route on DriveBC, then clicking on the map for road and weather conditions.

- By driving your own or a rented vehicle
- Custom shuttle with Pacific Rim Navigators
- Aboard daily scheduled trips with Tofino Bus
If driving from the British Columbia mainland, you’ll first need to sail with BC Ferries from one of two points near Vancouver to Vancouver Island:
- Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay: The Horseshoe Bay terminal is north of Vancouver and this ferry route takes just under 2 hours, arriving at Nanaimo’s Departure Bay.
- Tsawwassen to Duke Point: The Tsawwassen terminal is south of the city, closer to the USA border. This ferry route takes approximately 2.5 hours, arriving at the Duke Point terminal, about 15 minutes south of Nanaimo.
- Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay: The Tsawwassen terminal is south of the city, closer to the USA border. This ferry route takes approximately 2 hours, arriving at the Swartz Bay terminal, about 30 minutes north of Victoria.
