The Nootka Trail: Nootka Sound & the Village of Yuquot

Welcome to Nootka Island in the traditional territory of the Mowachaht / Muchalaht First Nation. This region is full of rich history, tales of Captain Cook, abundant wildlife and is home to the beautiful Nootka Trail. This remote 5 day trek begins in Tofino with a scenic flight along the west coast to the beautiful Nootka Island. This guided backpacking trek provides you with the opportunity to escape the crowds and is quickly becoming known as one of the best coastal treks in British Columbia.

The West Coast Trail: Pacific Rim National Park Reserve

Welcome to the West Coast Trail in the traditional territory of the Huu-ay-aht, Ditidaht and Pacheedaht First Nations. This world class trek, drawing thousands of hikers from all over the world every year begins for us in Ucluelet with a scenic boat ride across Barkley Sound and the Broken Island Group to the village of Bamfield. This guided backpacking trek provides you opportunity to discover the entirety of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and accomplish a highly rewarding life experience.

Sea to Summit: Flores Island & the Tofino Highlands

In this tour we have combined our favourite overnight coastal hike and paired it with our favourite overnight alpine hike in the Tofino, Clayoquot Region. This is a great introduction to the backcountry, for those who want an adventure and want to take that first step. To be able to spend the night on one of the best beaches on the west coast and the next night be high above the clouds in an alpine refuge, this 2 day trip is a must do off the beaten path Tofino experience.

  • Day 2 | Flores Island to 5040 Peak

  • Day 3 | 5040 Peak to Tofino

  • A 1% Conservation Fee will be added to all tours as we are committed to supporting the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation’s vision of achieving a socially and ecologically just conservation economy, where every dollar spent supports the ecological protection and restoration of the Tribal Parks ancestral gardens and the resurgence of Tla-o-qui-aht culture and governance.
  • Tent, Sleeping Bag, Mat etc. (*rental equipment is available for an additional cost)

Please refer to the trip packet for a recommended clothing list (we email you a detailed trip packet when you inquire and when you register). All trips require a sturdy pair of hiking shoes or hiking boots, rain gear, and non-cotton and cotton clothing layers. A minimum of three pairs of wool or synthetic hiking socks are also required. All of these items are available at our office prior to the trip.

Wilderness travel requires preparation, knowledge and at times can be difficult. Being well prepared will enhance the quality of your experience. We are here to assist you while you prepare for your trip, to educate you about the region and to take some of the load off to help you relax and enjoy your vacation without the stress of the unknown.
