Expanding on our introductory walk, this walk is our most popular and perfect for people looking for a long walk but who are limited on time. Wander along the boardwalk trails and sandy beaches of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve to learn more about the unique interaction between the land and the sea and discover how life has adapted in this island landscape.

Pacific Rim Traverse: Long Beach Nature Classic

Explore the southern half of Pacific Rim’s Long Beach Unit on this in-depth coastal day hike. You will immediately be immersed in the Coastal Temperate Rainforest, and journey northward across Florencia Bay to link up with the boardwalk network of Parks Canada trails. Discover the rich natural history of Vancouver Island’s west coast!

Wildside Trail: The Best of Clayoquot Sound

Enjoy a scenic boat ride through world renowned Clayoquot Sound and hike the Wildside Trail on Flores Island. A mix of boardwalks, forest trails and sandy beaches this trail is one of our favourite coastal day hikes and a must-do for those wanting a more remote and adventurous experience.

Kiixin: Ancient Village & Fortress National Historic Site

Kiix̣in is the only known traditional First Nations village remaining on the west coast of southern B.C., with significant standing house remains. It is commemorated as a National Historic Site. We will hike the trail to Kiix̣in, while exploring Vancouver Island’s pristine rainforest, beautiful protected beaches, and significant standing house remains. Along the way, guests will learn much of Huu-ay-aht’s knowledge and history, as well as Indigenous culture in the region.

Colbalt Lake Trail: The Tofino Highlands

Your endurance will reward you with breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in the region including Triple Peak, Cats Ears and the MacKenzie Range. Following the main divide of Vancouver Island, 5040 Peak is one of our favourite alpine day hikes in the region and well away from the main tourist walking trails. If you are interested in this tour, you can also turn this into an over night trip by staying at an alpine hut on the top of the mountain. Most of our Day Hikes are all rated as "Moderate" which means, you will need a reasonable level of fitness. You will need to be able to walk for 3-4 hours at a time on undulating paths. Most of the trails are hard packed sand, boardwalks and rain forest trails. You do not need to have any previous hiking experience before you join these tours. You will receive instructions and a full briefing by your experienced hiking guide before you set off. Contend with occasional steep section but primarily gradual. Few hazards such as uneven terrain and slippery rocks. Good mobility required. May take place in remote location and may require debarking from boat onto rocky shoreline or beach. Suitable for ages 12 and up. *But please note that our Colbalt Lake Hike is rated as "Challenging" so please read our Rating System here. Your meeting location will be sent to you upon booking the tour, along with a detailed map and trip information.

  • A day with a certified and knowledgeable local guide
  • For tours longer than 5 hours, lunch will be provided
  • Hiking poles are available upon request
  • Also day packs are available upon request

  • A Parks Canada day pass will be required for tours located in Pacific Rim National Park.
  • A 1% Conservation Fee will be added to all tours as we are committed to supporting the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation’s vision of achieving a socially and ecologically just conservation economy, where every dollar spent supports the ecological protection and restoration of the Tribal Parks ancestral gardens and the resurgence of Tla-o-qui-aht culture and governance.
