The Wildside Trail in Flores Island Provincial Park is our favourite coastal day hike in Tofino and Ucluelet. Join us on this off the beaten path adventure and experience the best of Clayoquot Sound as we hike 8 of the regions most beautiful beaches and untouched rainforests. On route to Flores Island we cruise Clayoquot Sound keeping an eye out for marine life like grey whales, killer whales, sea lions and sea otters too! The scenery here is spectacular and will be the highlight of your Tofino experience. Why hike the Wildside Trail with a guide? We also provide the necessary transport to get you to and from Flores Island, and set you up with a gourmet lunch to enjoy.

  • You will rendezvous with your guide at Storm Light Outfitters in Tofino. Here we will pack our bags and prepare for a full day of adventure on the Wildside Trail, and depart by boat to Flores Island. These details will be discussed during the booking process. Please arrive for this tour 30 minutes prior.

Moderate

  • You will need a reasonable level of fitness. You will need to be able to walk for 3-4 hours at a time on undulating paths. Most of the trails are hard packed sand, boardwalks and rain forest trails. You do not need to have any previous hiking experience before you join this tour. You will receive instructions and a full briefing by your experienced hiking guide before you set off. Content with occasional steep section but primarily gradual. Few hazards such as uneven terrain and slippery rocks. Good mobility required.
  • Suitable for ages 13 and up.
  • We recommend you wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor exercise and close-toed shoes suitable for hiking.
  • It’s always a good idea to bring a waterproof jacket or an additional layer such as a warm sweater as coastal weather can change quickly – even on sunny days!
  • We recommend you bring a camera of course!
  • It’s also a good idea to pack sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
  • We ask that you please bring your own reusable water bottle – we’re working to reduce plastic waste. Did you know that Tofino has some of the cleanest and freshest tap water in the world? Our fresh water supply comes from Colnett Mountain on the beautiful Meares Island. If you don’t have a bottle of your own; Reusable Bottles are available for purchase at our Storm Light Outfitter’s Booking Office along with a variety of outdoor gear.
