WHAT TO EXPECT
Wildlife Sightings While we can't guarantee specific animal sightings in their natural surroundings, it's important to remember that each day in nature is a unique and awe-inspiring experience. Our dedicated guides always strive to deliver exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities, and this tour typically offers abundant opportunities to observe the local fauna in their habitat. In this region live healthy populations of black bears, sea otters, seal lions, seals, grey whales, humpback whales and a diverse array of bird species. One of the most captivating moments occurs when, on occasion, we are fortunate to witness transient orcas passing through Clayoquot Sound in pursuit of their next meal. Locations will vary depending on the days weather and sea conditions.
*If you're keen on bear viewing specifically, the best time to catch them foraging along the shoreline is during low tide. Let us know if spotting a bear is a priority for you, and we’ll ensure you're booked for a tour at the optimal time.
Activity Rating: LIGHT Travelers should be in good health and comfortable sitting in an open boat for extended periods of time. Given the dynamic nature of sea conditions and the rapid fluctuations in daily weather forecasts, you should be prepared for a variety of conditions.

WHAT SETS US APART
Safari Style
This is a "wildlife safari" not a single species tour. We explore the full ecosystem of Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and follow nature's rhythm rather than a single sighting goal. Every trip is different, guided by the tides, weather and seasonal movement.
Small Groups. Big Connection
We keep our groups intentionally small, so you never feel lost in a crowd. More space, more quiet and more opportunity to connect with the land, without the rush. We also specialize in private charters if you are looking for an even more intimate experience.
More Time. More Discovery
Our tours are a full 3 hours in duration, giving you the time to truly explore the vastness of Clayoquot Sound. We believe value isn't measured in speed, but measured in depth. A longer tour means a more relaxed, immersive and rewarding experience; the kind that stays with you long after you've returned.

We are proud members of the Commercial Bear Viewing Association of British Columbia (CVBA). The CVBA is dedicated to conservation, supporting research, and guide training. As a member company we adhere to the CBVA Best Management Practices and Code of Conduct. We ensure that as a commercial operator, we do not disturb bears from daily activities. Our small boats are designed with a low impact visual profile and to view bears quietly with minimal engine noise. OUR VESSEL
The Hurricane 733 Zodiac RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) is a versatile and robust vessel, designed for high performance in a range of marine conditions. Built for durability, its rigid fiberglass hull provides stability and strength, while the inflatable collar offers buoyancy and shock absorption, making it ideal for rough seas and high speed operations. With a length of 27 feet, our vessel offers ample space for up to 8 passengers and gear, making it suitable for a variety of tasks, including wildlife viewing and adventure tours. Our vessel is Transport Canada certified and is equipped with VHF radios, GPS, radar, AIS, first aid kits, and a satellite phone. Guests are also provided with high quality Helly Hansen sailing suits and TC certified inflatable life jackets.
General Considerations: Zodiac vessels are open, low-profile inflatable boats designed for speed, maneuverability, and marine wildlife viewing. Due to their design and the conditions in which they operate, Zodiacs are not suitable for all individuals, particularly those with certain mobility limitations. Fitness to Participate: To participate in a Zodiac tour, guests must: - Be able to walk independently and navigate uneven terrain (such as docks, gangways, and slippery boat surfaces). - Be able to step down approximately 2–3 feet into the Zodiac and sit in a bench-style seat for the duration of the tour. - Have sufficient upper body strength and balance to hold onto safety handles and remain secure in dynamic marine conditions. - Be able to follow verbal instructions and respond to emergency procedures promptly. Who Should Not Join a RHIB (zodiac) Tour: Zodiac tours are not recommended for guests who: - Use wheelchairs, walkers, or require assistance walking or transferring. - Have recent injuries (especially back, neck, or joint injuries), chronic pain, or limited range of motion. - Are pregnant (especially in the second or third trimester), due to high-impact movement. - Have serious heart, respiratory, or neurological conditions that could be aggravated by sudden movement, cold weather, or wet conditions. - Or weigh under 40KG/88LBS. Loading & Unloading Assistance: - Guides are trained to provide verbal guidance and offer a steadying hand, but they cannot physically lift or carry guests into or out of the boat. - If a guest requires more assistance than we can safely provide, we may offer an alternative tour option on a more accessible vessel (if available) or issue a full refund. Booking Policy & Waiver: - All guests will be asked to disclose any relevant mobility concerns at the time of booking or check-in. - Guests must sign a waiver acknowledging physical requirements and accepting the inherent risks associated with Zodiac travel. - The captain and/or guide reserves the right to deny boarding if it is determined that participation would pose a safety risk to the guest or others. Our Commitment to Respect & Inclusion: We strive to provide meaningful, respectful experiences for all visitors. If a guest is unable to join a Zodiac tour due to mobility concerns, we will do our best to: - Offer alternative wildlife viewing tours on more stable or enclosed boats, with another operator if possible. - Provide refunds or rebooking options. - Offer on-land interpretive experiences, or accessible land-based tours.
