Tara Warkentin

Tara grew up on Cortes Island, off the coast of Vancouver Island. A childhood of peering into tide pools, sailing, and exploring nearby mountains gave her a love of ecology and adventure. She chased her passion for the mountains to Squamish, where she spent all her spare time skiing, hiking and climbing. Tara is an avid telemark skier, and ski patrols each winter with her heels free. She has spent the past 5 years working with youth in the outdoors, aiming to make outdoor adventure more accessible to youth from diverse backgrounds. She is currently melding her passions for science and working with people by studying to be a midwife.
