Overview

The Wildside Trail in Flores Island Provincial Park is our favourite coastal day hike in Tofino. Join us on this off the beaten path adventure and experience the best of Clayoquot Sound as we hike some of this regions most beautiful beaches and untouched rainforests. On this trip we will travel by boat from Tofino and often see a variety marine wildlife like grey whales and sea otters along the way. The scenery here is spectacular and will definitely be the highlight of your Tofino experience.

DEPARTURE TIME

Please meet your guide at our office inside Storm Light Outfitters (390 Main Street, Tofino) 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time. The meeting location will be provided in your tour confirmation email.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Activity Rating: MODERATE You will need a reasonable level of fitness to hike this trail. While it may not be as strenuous as difficult or advanced trails, it still involves some elevation changes that may pose a challenge to individuals with certain health conditions. You will need to be able to walk for 3-4 hours at a time on undulating paths. This hiking route is a mix of dense rainforest trail, rocky shoreline and sandy beaches. You will receive instructions and a full briefing by your experienced hiking guide before you set off. Contend with occasional steep section but primarily gradual. Few hazards such as exiting the boat onto slippery rocks, uneven terrain, and tree roots. Good mobility is required. By choosing to hike on a trail with a moderate rating, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with outdoor activities.

Weather conditions on the west coast of Vancouver Island are very unpredictable, so it is very important to be prepared with the correct equipment. Be always prepared to experience 4 season in one day! If you are missing something, you can purchase all of these items from our outdoor gear store at 390 Main Street, Tofino.
