CLAYOQUOT WILDLIFE SAFARI

Step aboard and discover the magnificent nature and wildlife of Clayoquot Sound on our RHIB marine safari. As you cruise through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, your expert wilderness guide will provide insightful commentary on the area's rich biodiversity and wildlife. Within this region, you'll encounter populations of bears, sea otters, sea lions, a diverse array of bird species and grey whales. One of the most captivating moments occurs when, on occasion, we are fortunate to witness orcas passing through Clayoquot Sound in pursuit of their next meal.

HIGHLIGHTS

|     Fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities|     Knowledgable guide/naturalist|     Exciting RHIB adventure

Our Zodiac Hurricane 733 is a rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) seats up to 8 passengers. RHIB's are often used for various military, police and rescue applications. Depending on the engine and load, the Zodiac Hurricane 733 can achieve speeds of up to 50 knots or more. These boats are typically constructed with a durable, rigid hull made of fiberglass or aluminum. The inflatable tubes, often made of Hypalon or PVC, provide stability and buoyancy. These boats are extremely agile and provide an excellent platform for wildlife viewing and tourism. In an open boat like this, you get close to the elements. Even on hot summer days, it still can be cold out on the water and weather conditions can change rapidly. All guests must wear our provided waterproof jacket, pants and lifejacket while on board our vessel. These lifejackets (certified by Transport Canada for commercial use) are suitable for those weighing 40kg/88lbs or more. If you are pregnant, have back problems, or weigh less than 40kg; we recommended other activities.

ARRIVAL TIME

Please arrive at our office 30 minutes prior to get fitted with our outerwear before heading out on the tour. Our office location will be provided to you in your tour confirmation email.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Activity Rating: LIGHT Travelers should be in good health and comfortable sitting in an open boat for extended periods of time. Given the dynamic nature of sea conditions and the rapid fluctuations in daily weather forecasts, you should be prepared for a variety of conditions. Wildlife Sightings While we can't guarantee specific animal sightings in their natural surroundings, it's important to remember that each day in nature is a unique and awe-inspiring experience. Our dedicated guides always strive to deliver exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities, and this tour typically offers abundant opportunities to observe the local fauna in their habitat. In this region live a healthy population of black bears, sea otters, seal lions, bald eagles and a variety of whale species which we can sometimes come across during a trip. Locations will vary depending on the days weather and sea conditions.
